Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas

The 2020 Masters Tournament came to an end on Sunday with Dustin Johnson’s record setting 20-under par performance. Johnson, who’ll go down as one of the greatest to ever play the game, ran away from the pack with a five stroke victory to claim his first Green Jacket and the second major championship of his career.

Among those who finished close behind Johnson on the leaderboard were Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy, two men who seem to be destined to win at least one Green Jacket of their own.

Justin Thomas at the 2020 Masters Tournament

Thomas finished in solo fourth at 12-under par, eight strokes behind Johnson. The fourth place finish was the best by Thomas in his career at Augusta National. In fact, JT has improved on his finishing spot at The Masters with each appearance. The 2017 PGA Champion made his Masters debut in 2016 and had a T39 finish. Since then he’s had a T22 in 2017, a T17 in 2018, and a T12 last year before finally finding the top-10 in 2020.

The year to year improvement by Thomas shows that he’s learning how to properly navigate Augusta National and that he possesses the tools that are needed to win at The Masters.
